Dr Melissa Oliver
Dr Melissa Oliver obtained her medical degree in Bachelor of Medical Studies/ Doctor of Medicine (BMed/ MD) at the University of New South Wales in 2013. She completed anaesthetic training at St George Hospital and worked across several major centres, including Westmead Children’s Hospital. She undertook a fellowship in Simulation and Education for Anaesthesia at Westmead Hospital, before moving to the UK in 2023 to complete a fellowship subspecialising in Anaesthesia for Liver Transplant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, a large tertiary referral centre.
Dr Oliver is a Consultant Anaesthetist at St George and Concord Repatriation General Public hospitals and provides care for patients across a number of private hospitals, including St George Private, Hurstville, Kareena and Sydney Day Surgery at RPA. Dr Oliver’s practice includes anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialities including colorectal, major abdominal and ENT surgery. She is passionate about medical education and particularly teaching through simulation to improve patient care in the operating theatre.
