Dr Martin Böhm

Dr Martin Böhm has practiced as a Specialist Anaesthetist since gaining fellowship in 2005, following training at Royal North Shore and St George Hospitals. He was awarded a Merit Certificate for excellence at the College of Anaesthetists Fellowship Examination.

Dr Böhm currently practices at St George Private and Public Hospitals, Royal North Shore, St Luke’s, North Shore Private, the Mater, and Hurstville Community Hospitals, with privileges at Kareena and other private hospitals in Sydney. 

His areas of particular expertise include anaesthesia for cardiac surgery (including echocardiography) orthopaedic surgery, trauma surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and provision of obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia.

Areas of interest include the development of progressive anaesthetic techniques to rapidly facilitate recovery from major knee surgery, the use of ultrasound technology in anaesthesia practice, regional anaesthesia and improving anaesthetic outcomes for day surgery patients.

He is keenly involved with specialist training, both at registrar and post fellowship levels.
