Dr Mark Higney

Dr Mark Higney is a specialist anaesthesiologist based in the St George region and has multiple clinical appointments at both local public and private hospitals. 

He originally studied medicine at the University of Glasgow and thereafter completed post graduate training in three separate sub specialties, namely Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine. He obtained specialist qualifications from both the Royal College of Physicians ( MRCP) and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA). He worked as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine in a major teaching hospital in the UK until 2007.

He relocated to Sydney in 2007 and completed dual fellowships in both Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine at St George Public Hospital.

He completed the specialist examinations of both those colleges. 

Dr Higney provides anaesthesia for many surgical sub-specialties and is actively involved in the post graduate training and supervision of junior anaesthetists.
